How Intergroup Operates

The SAA Greater Toronto Area Intergroup has prepared and approved* a by-law for ensuring that its governance is orderly, respectful, and in keeping with the Twelve Traditions.

Specifically, Tradition Four states:

“Each group should be autonomous, except in matters affecting other groups or SAA as a whole.”

The Intergroup deals with matters which are relevant to all of its SAA groups; Intergroup has no governance over how any of its individual groups are formed, operated and sustained.

Because the Intergroup supports all groups, all members of all groups should have the opportunity to have input into the draft bylaw’s content, format, and approval.

If your group has an elected Intergroup representative, they will speak to this bylaw at an upcoming business meeting, seeking members’ input.  If your group does not have an elected Intergroup representative, you may provide input to the Intergroup at torontosaainfo@gmail.com.
